Dare not / Daren't
Cesaret edememek anlamında olumsuz kullanımda
dare not/daren’t + V1
yapısı mevcuttur.
You dare not tell me that you didn’t study for the quiz.
DİKKAT!
Fiil olarak kullanımı da mevcuttur bu durumda olumsuzu yardımcı fiille yapılır ve “to+V1” yapısı kullanılır.
don’t/doesn’t dare to + V1
You don’t dare to tell me that you didn’t study for the quiz.
Would rather - Would sooner - Would Prefer
Belli durumlarda tercih belirtmek için kullanılırlarlar.
1- Eğer cümleyi kuran kişinin kendi tercihinden bahsediliyorsa aşağıdaki yapılar tercih edilir.
would rather + V1 + than + V1
would sooner + V1 + than + V1
would prefer to + V1 + rather than + Noun
would prefer + Noun + rather than + Noun
We would rather watch a movie than sleep.
We’d prefer to watch a movie rather than sleep.
2- Eğer cümleyi kuran kişi başkası adına belirttiği bir tercihten bahsediyorsa aşağıdaki yapılar tercih edilir.
would rather + Subj Pr.+ Past Simp.
would sooner + Subj Pr. + Past Simp.
would prefer + Obj Pr. + to V1
I would rather he picked us up.
I’d sooner he picked us up.
I would prefer him to pick us up.
DİKKAT!
Bu kalıpların arasında anlamı pekiştirmek için much kullanıldığı daha önce sınavlarda sorulmuştur. Eğer cümlede bir boşluk olmasına rağmen anlam kaybı oluşmamışsa akla ilk olarak pekiştireçler gelmelidir.

1- Requests
Rica anlamında “Would you mind + Ving” yapısıyla aynı anlamı vermektedir.
“Do you mind + Ving”
Do you mind turning down the volume ?

2- Asking Politely
Eğer kendimizin yapacağı bir işin herhangi bir sakıncası olup olmadığını soracaksak farklı yapıda kullanılır.
“Do you mind + me/my + Ving”
“Do you mind if + I + V1”
Do you mind my turning down the volume ?

“Do you mind if + I + V1” ile
“Would you mind if + I + V2″
yapıları aynı anlamda kullanılmalarına rağmen farklı yapılara sahiplerdir. Bu farkı daha iyi hatırlamak için, “Do you mind if + I + V1” Type 1 yapısına, “Would you mind if + I + V2” yapısı da Type 2 yapısına benzetilebilir. Böylelikle herhangi bir soruda If Clause içindeki yapı sorulursa Sadece “Do” ve “Would” yardımcı fiillerine göre Type seçmek sizi yanıltmaz.

Mind as a Verb
Caution
Eğer “mind” emir kipi ile kullanılırsa take care, be careful, pay attention to anlamlarını barındırır.
“Mind + Noun”
“Mind (that) + SVO”
“Mind + where, etc”
Mind that you don’t run into the teacher while leaving. I am sure that she will call your parents.
Mind your steps. They have just cleaned the floor.

3 yapıyla da aynı anlama gelen cümleler kurulabilir. Cümleler öneri içerirler.

Why don't/doesn't SBJ ...?
Suggestion
“Should” ile aynı anlama gelen bu yapının amacı soru sormak değil öneride bulunmaktır.
“Why don’t / doesn’t + SBJ + V1 …?”

Genellikle Type 1 cümlelerinde kullanılan ve If Clause içerisinde kullanılan “Should” ile aynı anlama gelen bu yapı çok zayıf ihtimal belirtir.
If you happen to call my girlfriend, don’t tell her about it.
If you should call my girlfriend, don’t tell her about it.
Should you call my girlfriend, don’t tell her about it.
