Amaç bildiren yan cümleler anlamı gereği ana cümleyle zaman uyumuna sahip olmak zorundadır. Bu tür cümlelerde “-ebilmek” olarak çevrilen modal yapıları sık kullanılmakla beraber, yan cümlenin içinde “should” daha önce If Clause konusunda değinildiği gibi “zayıf ihtimal” bildirir.
